Adonai Mitchell enters 2026 as a deep-league and best-ball flier, not a must-start fantasy pick. He’s now with the Jets, and the current buzz says he’s in line for a field-stretching role in a passing game that should be more stable than last year’s version, but still not one that projects huge weekly volume.

The appeal is straightforward: Mitchell has enough speed and talent to matter on limited targets, and there are signs the Jets still believe in him after acquiring him in the 2025 trade that brought him to New York. His late-2025 stretch with the team showed he can earn usage, but the efficiency has been uneven, with one recent model noting a 41.4% catch rate and 5.2 yards per target over eight Jets games.

The risk is just as clear. Garrett Wilson’s return from injury is expected to push Mitchell down the depth chart, and the Jets also used first-round picks on additional pass-catchers, which could cap his target share even further. That’s why most current rankings have him hovering around WR69-76, with ADP in the mid-to-late 14th round range and some models valuing him as barely above replacement level in standard 12-team formats.

For fantasy managers, Mitchell is best viewed as a cheap upside stash rather than a player to rely on every week. He makes sense if you want a bench receiver who can spike on a few splash plays, but his weekly floor looks fragile unless injuries or unexpected depth-chart movement open up more volume.
