Braelon Allen enters the 2026 fantasy season as a reliable handcuff with some sneaky standalone upside, but he is still clearly behind Breece Hall on the Jets’ depth chart. CBS Sports reports that Allen is set to resume a backup role in 2026, while FantasyPros projects him for roughly 106 carries, 427 rushing yards, and 4.3 rushing touchdowns, which points to usable but limited volume.

The biggest factor in Allen’s outlook is health, because he is working his way back from the MCL injury that ended his 2025 season. FantasyPros notes that he “looks spry” in practice and has been bouncing runs to the outside, which is encouraging for his recovery, but the same report still frames him as a 1B/backup behind Hall rather than a true lead option. That makes him a better bet in deeper leagues or as a late-round bench stash than as a weekly starter.

There is still a path to fantasy relevance if the Jets lean more heavily on the run or if Hall misses time. New York also extended Hall this offseason, which reinforces Allen’s backup status, but it does not eliminate the possibility of a meaningful role in a run-focused offense. In that kind of setup, Allen’s size and downhill style can translate into short-yardage and goal-line work, which is where his touchdowns would likely come from.

For 2026 drafts, Allen profiles as a high-end handcuff with some flex appeal in the right weeks, especially in best ball or deeper redraft formats. The safest expectation is modest rushing production with limited receiving work, but if Hall were to get hurt, Allen would instantly become much more interesting in fantasy.
