Braelon Allen

Braelon Allen enters the 2026 season as a high-end backup and one of the more interesting handcuff options in fantasy football. After flashing early in 2025, his year was cut short by a knee injury, but he is now back healthy and the Jets have indicated he remains behind Breece Hall on the depth chart going into 2026.

The biggest factor in Allen’s value is role, not talent. Reports from July and August say the Jets are comfortable keeping the same backfield structure, with Hall leading the way and Allen sharing backup work with Isaiah Davis, which keeps Allen’s weekly ceiling capped unless injuries open the door. That said, Allen has reportedly returned to full strength after recovering from the MCL injury, and he has also said he is bigger and faster heading into camp, which is a nice sign for his explosiveness and short-yardage upside.

For fantasy managers, Allen is most appealing in formats that reward bench upside and injury insurance. He has the size and power to handle goal-line work if his role grows, and his path to standalone value would likely come through increased carries, more red-zone chances, or a Hall absence. In a normal Jets game script, though, he looks more like a reserve with occasional touchdown-dependent flex appeal than a locked-in weekly starter.

The bottom line: Allen is a smart late-round stash in 2026, especially if you roster Breece Hall. He is healthy again, he is still in a useful offense, and he remains one injury away from a much larger workload, but for now his fantasy profile is that of a premium handcuff rather than a reliable every-week option.
