Breece Hall
New York Jets
Season Preview
Breece Hall enters the 2025 fantasy football season as a solid RB2 option with upside to climb higher, especially if his health and role in the Jets’ offense hold steady. After a disappointing 2024 season—where his production dropped significantly from his breakout 2023 campaign—expectations have tempered. Hall finished 2024 as RB17 in fantasy points per game, hindered by a drop in efficiency and fewer receptions. However, he remains by far the most talented and important running back on the Jets' roster, maintaining value as their top rusher and a key pass-catching option.
The Jets have seen major changes that could impact Hall’s production positively. With Aaron Rodgers and his coaching staff now gone, new head coach Aaron Glenn and dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields bring a fresh outlook, potentially emphasizing a stronger, more dynamic rushing attack. Glenn hinted at introducing a three-back system, though this might be more experimental than regular. Still, Hall should benefit from an offensive scheme that leans on his versatility in both rushing and receiving, especially if teammates Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis do not improve drastically; Hall’s role as the primary man in the backfield remains secure for now.
One area of concern remains Hall’s injury history and previous efficiency struggles. Though healthy entering the 2025 season, Hall saw his big-play ability decline in 2024, with a notable reduction in runs and catches over 20 yards. His rushing yards over expected also fell sharply compared to 2023. Still, he showed solid per-touch production metrics last year, indicating that if he can regain his explosiveness and maintain more consistent touches, a bounce-back to a top-five RB finish is feasible.
Contract-wise, Hall has stated that he does not expect a new extension before the season and is focused on proving himself to the new Jets regime. This determination could fuel his on-field performance, making him a player to watch closely. Despite the potential for a committee approach limiting his carries, Hall’s talent and central role in the offense suggest he remains a dependable fantasy option with upside in 2025 drafts. Fantasy managers should target him as a strong RB2 who could outproduce that label if given opportunity and efficiency.
