Brenton Strange
Jacksonville Jaguars
Season Preview
Brenton Strange enters the 2026 fantasy football season as Jacksonville’s clear top tight end and a legitimate mid-tier TE1 target. After Evan Engram left in free agency, Strange stepped into the featured role in 2025 and finished with 46 catches, 540 yards, and three touchdowns in only 12 games, with a hip injury sending him to injured reserve for part of the season.
The biggest reason to like Strange is role security. Multiple recent fantasy previews say he remains the Jaguars’ No. 1 tight end and should stay heavily involved in Liam Coen’s offense, which is expected to use plenty of multi-tight end looks. At the same time, Jacksonville added rookies Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol, so there is some depth-chart competition, but the consensus is that neither player is expected to meaningfully threaten Strange’s workload in 2026.
From a fantasy standpoint, Strange looks like a strong TE2 with top-12 upside rather than a locked-in every-week difference-maker. FantasyData notes that he averaged 9.2 PPR points per game and that his volume could be capped by a deeper receiving group that includes Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter, which keeps his weekly ceiling in check. Even so, recent analysis also points to a strong late-season stretch and chemistry with Trevor Lawrence, which supports the idea that Strange can be a reliable starting option in the right matchup.
For 2026 drafts, Strange is the kind of tight end who makes sense if you want stability without paying a premium. He has a safe path to snaps and targets, and his best-case outcome is a top-10 season if the offense clicks and he stays healthy, while his most likely range is more in the TE10-18 band. In a position that is often thin, Strange is a confident target for managers who want a steady starter with a bit of breakout room.
