Brenton Strange enters 2026 as a very solid fantasy TE2 with clear touchdown upside and a path to outperform his draft cost. Jacksonville locked him up with a three-year extension this summer, a strong sign the team views him as a core piece of the offense rather than a stopgap option.

The biggest selling point for Strange is opportunity. He posted a career-best 46 catches, 540 yards, and 3 touchdowns last season, and he’s expected to remain near the top of the Jaguars’ tight end pecking order after the team added rookies but still committed long term to him. Fantasy outlets currently project him as a usable starting-level tight end in deeper formats, with estimates around 60 catches and more than 660 receiving yards if things break right.

Health is worth monitoring, but the latest reports are encouraging. Strange missed time in 2025 with a hip injury, which helps explain why some evaluators still see him as more of a midrange fantasy option than a locked-in weekly difference-maker. The good news for 2026 is that there’s no current indication of a new injury or a change of team, and he was held out of Jacksonville’s preseason opener with the rest of the starters rather than due to a setback.

For fantasy drafters, Strange fits best as a late-round TE2 with TE1 streaming upside if Jacksonville leans on him more in the red zone. He’s not the safest breakout pick at the position, but his age, contract security, and role in a pass-catching-friendly offense make him one of the better value bets after the elite tight ends are gone.
