As we approach the 2025 fantasy football season, Brenton Strange is poised to make a significant impact as the new lead tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. With the departure of veteran tight end Evan Engram, Strange is set to step into a starting role, a position he has been preparing for since his second-round draft pick in 2023. This elevation in responsibility is expected to translate into a substantial increase in his fantasy football value.

The new coaching regime under Liam Coen, who is known for effectively utilizing tight ends, further bolsters Strange's prospects. Coen's offensive strategy, combined with the support from general manager James Gladstone and quarterback Trevor Lawrence, suggests that Strange will be integral to the Jaguars' passing game. This alignment of factors makes Strange an attractive sleeper pick in deeper leagues, particularly in tight-end premium formats. He is worth considering with a late-round draft pick, as he has the potential to become a low-end starter in all leagues if he maintains his current trajectory.

While Strange may not be projected as a top-12 fantasy tight end just yet, his deep-sleeper appeal is undeniable. His involvement in the passing game is expected to be consistent, with seven games in 2024 where he had at least four targets, resulting in him scoring at least 9.2 PPR points in six of those outings. If he can sustain this level of performance over a full season, he could become a valuable asset for fantasy teams and potentially even a waiver-wire gem if he goes undrafted.
