Brock Purdy enters the 2026 fantasy football season as a solid low-end QB1 with a path to finish higher if San Francisco’s offense stays healthy and efficient. FantasyPros notes that he has finished inside QB1 range in fantasy points per game in each of his three full seasons as a starter, which makes him one of the safer midround quarterback targets in drafts.

The biggest concern is durability and turnover risk. Purdy dealt with a nagging turf toe injury that limited him to nine starts in 2025, and even though he still threw 20 touchdowns, he also had 10 interceptions. That injury history matters for 2026 because any missed time would quickly weaken his fantasy value, especially in a quarterback class where weekly volume can be found later in drafts.

The upside case is strong, too. ESPN’s 2026 fantasy preview projects Purdy to lead the league in passing touchdowns at 38 in a scenario where he starts all 17 games, which highlights how high his ceiling can be in Kyle Shanahan’s system. That kind of projection is aggressive, but it reflects the reality that Purdy can produce elite fantasy numbers when the offense is clicking and he has a full season of snaps.

His supporting cast is different this year, and that could cut both ways. FantasyPros says the 49ers’ pass-catching group looks “a lot different” in 2026, with Mike Evans and Christian Kirk added, Ricky Pearsall still in place, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne gone, and George Kittle recovering from a torn Achilles that might delay his start to the season. That gives Purdy enough weapons to remain fantasy relevant, but it also adds some uncertainty, so he looks best as a draft-day value if you wait on quarterback and want a steady starter with top-10 upside.
