Bryce Young enters the 2026 season as a steady but still limited fantasy quarterback, not a must-draft starter in most 1QB leagues. He just posted career-best real-life numbers in 2025 with 3,011 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, and Carolina exercised his fifth-year option, keeping him with the Panthers through 2027.

The biggest reason for optimism is that Young showed real growth last season, including a signature 448-yard, three-touchdown game in Week 11 and a playoff appearance that added some momentum to his profile. Even so, his fantasy production has lagged behind the improvement, with recent outlooks placing him around QB26 and projecting him in the QB20-QB26 range rather than the top-12 conversation.

From a fantasy angle, Young is best viewed as a late-round quarterback or matchup-based streamer, especially in deeper leagues and superflex formats. Current 2026 projections generally sit around 13.6 to 13.9 fantasy points per game, which is useful but not difference-making, and his 2025 season showed enough passing volume and rushing utility to keep him on the radar without making him a weekly lock.

There is no recent trade, signing, or release changing his outlook, and the main story for 2026 is simply whether he can take another step in efficiency and touchdown production. If Carolina’s offense stays stable and Young continues to improve, he can be a respectable QB2 with streaming value, but the safer expectation is still a fringe fantasy starter rather than a breakout asset.
