Cade Otton
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Season Preview
As we head into the 2025 fantasy football season, the outlook for Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton is somewhat muted. While Otton had a notable stretch last season, his production was largely circumstantial. When key receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were injured, Otton stepped up significantly, catching 30-of-39 targets for 293 yards and three touchdowns over a four-game period starting from Week 7.
However, once the primary receivers returned to health, Otton's role and production diminished substantially. In his other 10 games, he managed only 29 catches for 307 yards and a single touchdown. This disparity highlights that his fantasy value is heavily dependent on the health and availability of the Buccaneers' top wideouts.
Entering the 2025 season, the Buccaneers' offense looks even more crowded with the addition of first-round draft pick Emeka Egbuka and the continued development of rookie Jalen McMillan. Additionally, the emergence of Bucky Irving adds another layer of depth to the team's offense, further reducing the likelihood of Otton being a focal point in the game plan. With Evans and Godwin expected to be healthy, Otton's opportunities are likely to be limited.
Given these factors, fantasy managers should approach Cade Otton with tempered expectations. He is best viewed as a low-ceiling TE2, and his fantasy impact is unlikely to be significant unless there are injuries to the team's primary receivers. While he showed flashes of potential last season, his role in the Buccaneers' offense does not suggest he will be a reliable or high-scoring fantasy asset in 2025.
