Season Preview

Caleb Williams enters 2026 as one of the more intriguing fantasy quarterbacks, and the case for him starts with a strong fantasy profile and clear year-over-year growth. In 2025, he reportedly finished as the QB6 in fantasy scoring and averaged 18.7 fantasy points per game, which put him firmly in every-week starter territory.

The setup around him also looks encouraging. Current preseason projections have him around 3,868 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, 398 rushing yards, and 301 fantasy points, which points to a high-end QB1 range if things break right. He’s also being viewed as a player with top-five upside because of his arm talent, rushing ability, and the offensive environment in Chicago.

The main fantasy question is whether his efficiency takes another step forward, especially since some evaluators note that if his rushing production dips, his fantasy stock could slide a bit. Even so, the overall outlook remains positive, and recent projections still treat him as Chicago’s starter with a strong chance to deliver another QB1 season.

There was an ankle scare in the playoffs earlier this year, but he returned to action and the reporting at the time did not show an immediate long-term issue that would change his 2026 outlook. For fantasy drafters, Williams looks like a confident target as a potential top-8 quarterback with upside to finish even higher if the passing efficiency and red-zone production keep climbing.
