Caleb Williams
Chicago Bears
Season Preview
Caleb Williams enters the 2026 fantasy season as one of the best quarterback breakout bets in the game, coming off a second-year jump that pushed him into the QB1 conversation. In 2025, he finished as the QB6 in fantasy scoring and just shy of 20 points per game, while throwing for a franchise-record 3,942 yards and adding 388 rushing yards and three rushing scores, so the fantasy production is already there with room for more.
The setup around him is excellent. With Ben Johnson calling the plays for a second straight season, Williams is operating in an offense that has already shown it can support efficient passing and strong weekly fantasy totals, and CBS Sports points to a top-five offensive line and a loaded group of weapons as major reasons to buy in. That supporting cast includes Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, and tight end Colston Loveland, giving Williams multiple high-end targets at every level of the field.
The biggest fantasy appeal is the combination of growth and mobility. Williams improved his passing efficiency in 2025, cutting his sack rate sharply while raising his yards per attempt and touchdown rate, and FantasyPros notes that he still has more room to grow because his completion rate remains modest and his start-to-start consistency can still swing. His rushing gives him a safer weekly floor than many pocket passers, but the ceiling depends on further progress in processing, accuracy, and red-zone efficiency.
For 2026 drafts, Williams belongs firmly in the upper QB1 tier and is being treated as a player who can return value if he takes even one more step forward. The safest fantasy take is that he is a strong target once the first elite quarterback run starts, with realistic top-five upside if the offense stays healthy and he continues building on the late-season momentum he showed in 2025.
