Christian Watson enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the more intriguing upside picks at wide receiver. The biggest positive is that Green Bay gave him a four-year, $110.5 million extension, which signals that he is firmly part of the offense’s long-term plan and should continue to be featured prominently in 2026.

From a production standpoint, Watson’s post-injury stretch was excellent. After returning from a late-2024 ACL tear in Week 8 of last season, he handled a strong route load and posted a 23% target per route run rate and a 20% target share from Weeks 8-18, while finishing as the WR22 in fantasy points per game over that span. PFF also noted that since his Week 8 return, he ranked eighth among receivers in receiving grade and tied for fifth in receiving touchdowns, which supports the idea that his efficiency has translated well even after the injury.

The main question for 2026 is volume. Watson has typically lived on efficiency rather than massive target totals, and FantasyPros notes that he has never been a high-volume target earner, but his role looks better now with vacated targets in Green Bay’s receiving room. That combination of a stable WR1-type role, elite speed, and the ability to score from anywhere on the field gives him legitimate WR2 upside if his target share climbs even modestly.

Fantasy managers should still price in some injury risk because the ACL recovery and his overall health history remain part of the profile, but the upside is real enough to chase. In redraft, he fits best as a high-ceiling WR2 or strong WR3 who can swing weeks with big plays and touchdowns, while in best ball he is especially appealing because his profile matches spike-week production.
