Season Preview

Colby Parkinson looks set up as a usable fantasy tight end in 2026 because he is still projected as the Rams’ top option at the position heading into the season. Current depth charts and fantasy outlets both show him ahead of Tyler Higbee, with Los Angeles continuing to list Parkinson near the top of the tight end room and indicating he remains in the TE1 role.

That role gives him a real path to weekly relevance, especially in a Rams offense that has historically leaned on the tight end in the middle of the field and in the red zone. Reports from this summer also suggest Parkinson is expected to remain the Rams’ No. 1 tight end as the regular season approaches, which keeps him on the fantasy radar in deeper formats and as a streaming option.

The main downside is volume rather than talent. Recent fantasy outlooks caution that Parkinson may struggle to produce consistently enough to become a must-start player, and the presence of Tyler Higbee plus younger competition in the room limits his ceiling if targets spread out. Even so, his current contract and depth-chart status suggest the Rams still view him as an important part of the offense, so a full-time role is very much in play.

Health is worth monitoring, but there is no major 2026 injury issue looming from the recent reports reviewed. His 2025 injury history included shoulder and concussion issues, yet the latest available fantasy notes do not show a new major setback heading into this season, which is a good sign for his availability. In fantasy terms, Parkinson profiles as a solid late-round tight end for managers who want touchdown upside and a likely starting job, but not someone to count on as a high-end weekly difference-maker.
