Recent reports say he’s fully healthy after an offseason shoulder procedure, and Loveland himself said he feels very good heading into year two, which is exactly what fantasy managers want to hear from a young breakout candidate.

The biggest thing boosting his outlook is opportunity. Chicago is clearly leaning into Loveland’s development, and the Bears have already moved on from DJ Moore this offseason, which can funnel even more passing-game volume toward their core playmakers. That matters because Loveland already showed enough talent late last year to make the offense look more dangerous whenever he was involved, and the coaching staff has publicly talked up his growth heading into 2026.

There is still a little injury caution baked into his profile, though it shouldn’t scare anyone off. Loveland finished last season in concussion protocol after the Bears’ divisional-round loss to the Rams, and he had also dealt with a shoulder issue that was repaired after the season, but the latest updates indicate both are behind him and not expected to impact his Week 1 availability. He was also held out of Chicago’s preseason win over the Browns on August 22, but there has been no sign that this reflects a major setback.

Fantasy-wise, Loveland is a strong upside TE1 target, especially in formats that reward receptions. The ceiling case is a second-year breakout if Chicago gives him consistent routes and red-zone chances, while the floor is more modest if the target tree stays crowded or the offense spreads the ball around more than expected. Still, with his health trending well and the Bears signaling a larger role, Loveland looks like a smart, high-upside tight end to roster in 2026.
