Dak Prescott enters the 2026 fantasy football season as a strong QB1 option again, backed by a high-volume passing role and one of the league’s better receiver groups. After his 2025 rebound, he finished as a top-five/two-five fantasy quarterback by most reporting, throwing for 4,552 yards and 32 total touchdowns while leading the league in completions, and that kind of workload keeps him firmly in the weekly-start conversation.

The biggest reason to be optimistic is the structure of Dallas’s offense. FantasyPros notes that Prescott has a solid offensive line and what may be the best WR tandem in the league with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and FantasyData also points to Lamb, Pickens, and Jake Ferguson all returning to the passing game in 2026. If Dallas’s defense is again shaky, Prescott should get plenty of shootout scripts, which matters because his fantasy value comes much more from passing volume than rushing production.

There is still one clear downside: Prescott does not offer much on the ground. FantasyPros says he has only seven rushing touchdowns over the last five years, so his weekly ceiling depends heavily on passing efficiency and touchdowns rather than scramble production. That makes him a safer floor QB1 than a true elite dual-threat difference-maker, but his recent production shows he can still finish near the top when healthy and active for a full season.

The main risk is durability, since he missed time in the past with a hamstring injury and has not always been available for a full season. Even so, the current outlook is encouraging: he remains in Dallas, his contract has been restructured, and there is no indication from the provided sources of a trade, release, or major change that would weaken his role. For 2026 redraft leagues, Prescott looks like a dependable mid-to-high QB1 target, especially if you want stability without paying for the very top tier of quarterbacks.
