Dalton Kincaid

Dalton Kincaid enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the more interesting tight end bets because the talent and efficiency are obvious, but the role and durability have both been frustrating. He stayed highly productive on a per-route basis in 2025, ranking among the best tight ends in open score and posting a league-leading 3.2 yards per route run at the position, even though his route rate was only 46 percent. That kind of efficiency makes him a strong upside target, especially in a Buffalo offense that still projects to lean heavily on Josh Allen.

The biggest question for Kincaid is health. Multiple recent reports describe him as having dealt with lingering knee and hamstring issues across the past two seasons, including playing only 12 games in 2025 and 13 in 2024, which has limited his ability to turn efficiency into a true breakout season. The good news is that his offseason focus has reportedly been on getting stronger and healthier, and Buffalo’s own front office has emphasized keeping him on the field. If he can finally hold up for a full season, the ceiling is clearly much higher than what his raw totals from the last two years suggest.

Target competition is also part of the equation, and that matters for his 2026 range of outcomes. Recent fantasy coverage notes that Buffalo acquired DJ Moore, which adds another quality pass-catching option and could trim some volume from Kincaid, even if he remains the top receiving tight end on the roster ahead of Dawson Knox. At the same time, there is at least some buzz that Knox’s salary-cap situation could eventually open more snaps and routes for Kincaid, which would be a major boost if it happens. The fantasy takeaway is that Kincaid is no longer a pure volume bet; he is more of an efficiency-plus-upside play who needs a healthier season and a slightly larger route share to pay off big.

For 2026 drafts, Kincaid fits best as a mid-round tight end with legitimate top-five upside if everything breaks right, but enough downside that drafters should not overpay. The range of outcomes is wide: he could again be a frustrating TE1/TE2 hybrid if the injuries or playing time issues linger, or he could finally deliver the kind of breakout managers expected when he entered the league. In friendly fantasy terms, he is a confident target if you want ceiling at tight end, but you should still build your roster as if you may need another answer at the position.
