Season Preview
D.J. Moore’s 2026 fantasy outlook gets a major boost from his move to Buffalo, where he’ll catch passes from Josh Allen after the Bears traded him to the Bills in March. That kind of quarterback upgrade matters a lot for fantasy, and Moore enters the season as a clear weekly starter in a much more explosive passing environment than he had in Chicago.
The biggest thing to monitor right now is health, but the early signs are encouraging. Moore briefly left a preseason game on August 15 with a possible ankle issue, then returned to team drills by August 20 and was described as “good to go,” which points to a scare rather than a serious setback. For a player with a strong durability track record and only manageable bumps over the last few seasons, that’s about as good as fantasy managers could hope for heading into draft season.
From a production standpoint, Moore still has the skill set that makes him hard to fade. Recent 2026 projection models place him around the WR2 range, with expectations in the neighborhood of 70 catches and roughly 900 receiving yards, and his first game action with Buffalo showed immediate chemistry with Allen as he posted 3 catches for 61 yards. That’s a very usable fantasy profile, especially in PPR formats, because Moore can win on volume, yards after the catch, and occasional big plays.
The best way to view Moore in 2026 is as a high-floor WR2 with WR1 upside if Buffalo funnels enough targets his way. There is some competition for looks in the Bills’ receiver room, but Moore is still the most proven and most complete pass-catcher on the roster, and his role should keep him firmly in the every-week fantasy conversation. If he stays healthy, he has a real chance to outperform his draft price and deliver one of his better fantasy seasons.
