Hunter Henry

As we head into the 2025 fantasy football season, Hunter Henry is a name that warrants attention, though with some caveats. Despite a down year in 2022, Henry rebounded strongly in 2023 and 2024, finishing 16th in fantasy points per game in both seasons. He has consistently shown flashes of fantasy stardom, with three weeks as a top-two fantasy tight end over the last two seasons.

However, the landscape for Henry has changed significantly with the New England Patriots' offseason moves. The addition of Stefon Diggs, along with other new receivers like Mack Hollins and rookie Kyle Williams, increases the competition for targets. This could potentially limit Henry's consistency and overall fantasy output. Despite this, Henry remains a key figure in the Patriots' offense, having led the team in receiving yards (674), targets (97), and matching a team high in catches (66) in 2024.

Henry's role in the offense is still substantial, particularly given his high target share when quarterback Drake Maye is on the field. In 2024, Henry had a 21% target share with Maye, and he played more than 80% of the snaps. If Maye has a strong sophomore season, Henry could remain fantasy relevant, potentially as a top-15 tight end. However, it's crucial to temper expectations; Henry is not likely to be a game-changer but could be a valuable streamer or backend TE2.

In terms of projections, Henry is expected to see around 55 catches for 600 yards and four touchdowns. This is a reasonable estimate given the increased competition and the Patriots' overall offensive dynamics. With the new coaching staff, including Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels, there is optimism for an improved offense, but it remains to be seen how this will distribute the targets among the various receivers. For now, Henry is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, if not spectacular, tight end option.
