Isaac TeSlaa enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the better cheap upside bets at wide receiver. The Lions spent real draft capital to move up for him in 2025, and even in a limited rookie role he turned just 16 catches into six touchdowns, which is the kind of scoring efficiency that fantasy managers notice right away.

The appeal is obvious: TeSlaa has already shown red-zone usefulness, and multiple 2026 previews expect Detroit to expand his role after he flashed late in the year. One recent fantasy breakdown noted that from Week 13 on, he handled over half the snaps and scored four of his six touchdowns, while another described him as a dangerous weapon who could become a much bigger piece of the offense in 2026.

At the same time, there are real reasons to keep expectations grounded. His touchdown rate from last season is almost certainly not repeatable, and his overall usage was still modest, so he is not yet a safe volume play. FantasyPros also points out that he is still relatively unproven in terms of underlying receiving production, which makes him more of a late-round upside pick than a locked-in weekly starter.

For 2026 drafts, TeSlaa makes sense as a deeper-league target and a bench stash in best ball or redraft formats where you can wait on breakout bets. If Detroit’s offense gives him a larger route share and he keeps earning end-zone looks, he has a path to beating his draft cost; if not, he still profiles as a boom-or-bust receiver whose fantasy value will likely come in spikes rather than steady weekly volume.
