Jake Ferguson enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the safer late-round tight end bets, with a profile built on volume, red-zone usage, and a stable role in Dallas. He finished 2025 with 82 catches for 600 yards and 8 touchdowns, and he has now finished as the TE8 in two of his last three seasons.

The key question is upside. Ferguson’s target share is likely capped while CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are both healthy, since Dallas’ passing game is centered on those two receivers. That said, Ferguson still offers strong weekly floor value because he has repeatedly earned consistent involvement in a productive offense, and he can still post spike weeks when the game script or injuries push more work his way.

There are also a few signs that last season’s final fantasy totals may have been a little flattering. Ferguson was much stronger early in 2025 than down the stretch, and his per-game production was more TE2-ish than his season-long finish suggests. He also averaged just 7.3 yards per catch, which points to a shorter-area role rather than a high-ceiling downfield profile.

For 2026 drafts, Ferguson looks best as a mid-to-late TE1 or high-end TE2 depending on format, especially if you prefer waiting on the position. If Lamb or Pickens miss time, Ferguson’s value could jump quickly because he has already shown he can function as a top-two option in this offense, but in a fully healthy Dallas passing game he is more of a reliable starter than a difference-making star.
