Jalen Coker
Carolina Panthers
Season Preview
Jalen Coker enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the more intriguing late-round receiver targets because his role and usage are trending in the right direction. After missing the start of 2025 with a quad injury, he finished strong, producing 33 catches for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games, and he closed the year with real splash-play upside, including a career-high 134-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Panthers’ Wild Card loss.
The biggest reason to believe in Coker is the trust he built with Bryce Young. Reports from the offseason describe him as a favorite to open the year as Carolina’s No. 2 wide receiver, and his strong hands and reliability have helped him emerge as one of Young’s trusted options. That said, the Panthers did not stand still, adding John Metchie III in free agency and drafting Chris Brazzell II in the third round, so Coker’s target ceiling is a little less clean than it looked earlier in the offseason.
For fantasy managers, that means Coker is best viewed as a high-upside WR4 or WR5 with room to beat that price if he stays healthy. One recent outlook pushed him down to WR49 in late-round rankings, which actually makes him more interesting as a value because he now comes at a discount despite showing he can produce when given consistent snaps. He also fits well in PPR formats thanks to his route reliability and likely role in the slot, where Carolina projected him to play a major part in 11 personnel looks.
The main risk is durability, since the quad injury already cost him six games last season, and fantasy managers need to factor in the possibility that Carolina’s receiver room becomes more crowded as the year goes on. Still, if Coker gets a full healthy season, the profile is there for a breakout, especially if Bryce Young continues to develop and Carolina’s offense leans on Coker’s size, hands, and chemistry in key passing situations.
