Jalen McMillan enters the 2026 fantasy football season as a talented but volatile WR3/WR4 type with real breakout upside if Tampa Bay’s passing game stays healthy and the role opens up. Recent fantasy analysis still views him as a dynasty buy and a sneaky sleeper for 2026, with projection models putting him in the range of about 43 catches, 552 receiving yards, and 4.4 touchdowns.

The biggest reason to keep McMillan on your radar is opportunity. The Buccaneers have moved on from Mike Evans in free agency, but McMillan also faces more target competition after Tampa Bay added another receiver in the draft, while Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and Tez Johnson remain in the mix. That leaves McMillan with a plausible path to meaningful snaps, but not a locked-in alpha role.

Health is the key variable. McMillan’s 2025 season was largely derailed by a neck injury that cost him most of the year, though he returned late and showed he could still produce in a limited sample, finishing with 12 catches for 178 yards on 15 targets in four regular-season games. FantasyPros notes that his upside is still intriguing, but availability has become the main concern heading into Year 3.

For fantasy purposes, McMillan is best treated as an upside bench stash with matchup-based streaming appeal in deeper leagues rather than a weekly lock. If Tampa Bay’s offense opens up under the new play-calling approach and he earns the secondary role behind Egbuka or Godwin, he could outperform his draft cost; if the target share stays crowded, his range of outcomes remains wide.
