Jauan Jennings enters the 2026 fantasy football season with a very different outlook than he had a year ago, because he is no longer in San Francisco and is now with the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal worth up to $13 million. That move matters a lot for fantasy: Minnesota already has Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison in place, and CBS Sports expects Jennings to work as the No. 3 receiver at best behind them, which limits his target ceiling in most formats.

The role is the biggest issue here. Jennings was productive with the 49ers, including 55 catches, 643 yards, and a career-high nine touchdowns in 2025, but that came with a much clearer path to volume than he is likely to have in Minnesota. FantasyPros notes that he broke out in 2024 with 77 catches, 975 yards, and six touchdowns, and that he has been especially effective on a first-read and red-zone basis, but those strengths may not translate into the same weekly consistency in a crowded Vikings passing game.

The upside case is straightforward: if injuries hit Jefferson or Addison, or if Minnesota leans more heavily on middle-of-the-field and red-zone usage for Jennings, he can still be a useful fantasy depth piece. Vikings team coverage has highlighted his contested-catch ability, slot/inside usage, and red-zone production, all of which suggest he can be a useful complement and occasional touchdown threat even without being the featured option. That said, the current setup points more toward a complementary role than a weekly difference-maker.

For fantasy drafting, Jennings looks like a late-round receiver in standard redraft leagues, with more appeal as bench depth than as a locked-in starter. His 2026 value will depend heavily on how quickly he builds chemistry with Minnesota’s quarterback and whether the Vikings expand his role beyond the expected No. 3 spot, but based on the current roster makeup he profiles more as a matchup-based WR4/WR5 than as a breakout candidate.
