Jaydon Blue enters the 2026 fantasy season as a classic late-round upside play for Dallas. He’s still viewed as a second-year back with sleeper appeal, but the range of outcomes remains wide because his role is expected to be limited unless he earns more work in camp and early in the season.

The biggest reason to keep Blue on your radar is his explosiveness and receiving utility. Recent preseason and camp buzz has been positive, with reports noting that Dallas coaches have praised him and that he could be used as a receiver in a system that may create opportunities behind the Cowboys’ star pass catchers. That profile gives him more fantasy appeal in PPR formats than in standard leagues, especially if he starts seeing designed touches near the goal line or in space.

There is still some caution here, though, because Blue has not yet proven he can handle a large workload efficiently. His rookie-year production was modest, and some recent analysis points to limited explosiveness and missed-tackle success, which is part of why projections and rankings still place him in the RB4/RB5 range rather than as a true breakout candidate. In plain fantasy terms, that means he’s more of a bench stash or handcuff than someone you should count on as a weekly starter right away.

For 2026 drafts, Blue makes the most sense as a cheap upside pick in the last rounds. If he stays healthy and the Dallas backfield opens up, he has the skill set to outplay his draft cost, but the safest expectation is still a rotational role with sporadic fantasy value unless injuries or a depth-chart shift change the picture.
