During that time, he demonstrated his potential as a reliable fantasy option, particularly in committee backfields. He managed to post several top-10 fantasy finishes and showed his versatility by scoring both on the ground and through the air.

However, the landscape for Ford has changed significantly with the Browns' recent draft picks. The addition of rookie running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson introduces stiff competition for touches. Judkins, in particular, is expected to challenge Ford for the lead running back role, and many analysts predict that Judkins will eventually take over as the RB1.

Despite this competition, Ford is still likely to start the season as the Browns' lead runner. However, his early-season performance may be hampered by tough matchups against teams like the Bengals, Ravens, Packers, and Lions. This challenging schedule could see the Browns trailing often, which might limit Ford's opportunities for significant fantasy points.

For fantasy managers, Jerome Ford is best viewed as a late-round pick or a dart throw. However, his long-term role is uncertain, and he may eventually give way to the more explosive rookie, Quinshon Judkins.
