QB

Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals

Season Preview

Joe Burrow enters the 2025 fantasy football season as one of the most reliable and high-ceiling quarterbacks in the NFL. After a stellar 2024 where he led the league with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, earning Comeback Player of the Year honors, Burrow remains a top-tier fantasy asset. He ended last season as a top three fantasy quarterback by points per game despite a struggling Bengals defense that forced him into a high-volume passing role. This trend is expected to continue in 2025, as Cincinnati’s defense shows limited improvement, likely keeping Burrow in plenty of pass-heavy situations.

Offensively, Burrow is well supported by an elite receiving corps. Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins continue to be one of the best wide receiver tandems in the league, both averaging over 2.0 yards per route run last season, which complements Burrow’s accuracy and pocket awareness perfectly. Tee Higgins has signed a new contract, solidifying the core of Cincinnati’s passing attack. The Bengals also upgraded their offensive line by adding Lucas Patrick and rookie Dylan Fairchild, which should provide better protection for Burrow compared to previous seasons but still might not fully solve protection issues.

From a fantasy perspective, Joe Burrow is projected to maintain his volume and production, making him a strong QB1 target. His ability to consistently deliver timing and location on throws, along with the strong receiving weapons, positions him strongly for yet another top-five fantasy quarterback finish. Experts rank him comfortably among the best quarterbacks to draft beyond the top four superstars, often targeting him around Round 4 in standard 10-team leagues. The combination of strong volume, continued targets to elite receivers, and likely pass-heavy game scripts works in favor of fantasy managers.

There are no significant injury concerns reported heading into the season for Burrow, which adds confidence in his durability and fantasy reliability for 2025. While Bengals fans hope for an improved defense and better overall team success, fantasy owners can expect Burrow to remain a high-output and volume-driven fantasy quarterback who will deliver consistent points and high upside week in and week out. If you are building your fantasy roster, Burrow is certainly among the safest and highest-upside quarterbacks this season.
