Smith's surge in production was particularly notable in the second half of the 2024 season, where he averaged an impressive 18.6 PPR points per game over his last eight games. This period saw him become a favorite target for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, especially in the short passing game, which was a key strategy following Tagovailoa's return from a concussion. Smith's ability to avoid tackles and his consistent involvement in the Dolphins' offense make him a compelling pick for fantasy teams.

However, there are some factors to consider that might temper expectations for Smith's 2025 season. The health and performance of Miami's top wide receivers, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, could significantly impact Smith's target rate.
