Josh Allen remains the safest and highest-upside quarterback in fantasy football heading into 2026. He is once again widely viewed as the QB1, and multiple preseason rankings still put him at the top because his rushing production gives him an edge that most other quarterbacks cannot match.

The biggest reason Allen keeps separating from the field is his dual-threat scoring. He has finished as a top-three fantasy quarterback in six straight seasons, and his recent rushing totals have stayed elite, with double-digit rushing touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and 579 rushing yards plus 14 rushing scores in 2025. That kind of weekly floor, combined with true overall QB1 ceiling, makes him the rare passer you can build around and trust every week.

There are a few mild concerns, but none that knock him out of the elite tier. Allen’s passing numbers dipped a bit in 2025, including a six-year low in passing yards per game and touchdown passes, and Buffalo still has not produced a 900-yard receiver since Stefon Diggs left, which keeps some pressure on the supporting cast. Even so, the Bills tried to address that by trading for D.J. Moore this offseason, while Dalton Kincaid is also expected to play a major role as a red-zone and middle-of-the-field target.

The only notable health note is that Allen underwent foot surgery in the offseason, but reports say he entered the offseason program without limitations and his foot feels good. In fantasy terms, that makes him a very strong early-round pick again in 2026, with a combination of rushing, touchdown equity, and high-end weekly upside that should keep him as one of the first quarterbacks off the board.
