Recent fantasy analysis still sees him as more of a WR4/WR5 in early drafts, with the main concern being that Buffalo’s offseason addition of DJ Moore could shrink Shakir’s target share and weekly ceiling.

The good news is that Shakir’s role in the Bills’ offense has been meaningful for a while, and Buffalo clearly values him after giving him a four-year extension worth about $60 million in 2025. Dynasty-focused analysis also points out that he has finished as a low-end WR3 in each of the last two seasons and that his short-to-intermediate route profile fits well as a No. 2 option, which supports his floor even if the ceiling remains modest.

For redraft leagues, Shakir looks best as a dependable depth pick in full-PPR formats, where steady catches matter more than splash plays. Reports from fantasy analysts describe him as a “safe” WR3/FLEX type with a solid weekly floor, but they also note that his scoring has been limited and that he has not shown the kind of touchdown upside that typically wins leagues.

The bottom line is that Shakir is still very draftable, especially if he slips into the later middle rounds, but he is better treated as a reliable complement than a centerpiece. If Buffalo’s target distribution tightens around Moore and the rest of the pass-catching group, Shakir’s fantasy value will likely stay rooted in volume and efficiency rather than big-play production, so he makes more sense for managers who want stability than for those chasing breakout upside.
