Kyren Williams

Los Angeles Rams

Season Preview

Kyren Williams enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the safest early-round running backs, thanks to his role in a strong Rams offense and his proven weekly touch volume. Recent 2026 previews still project him as the lead back and a low-end RB1, with FantasyPros noting that he “should remain the lead back for one of the NFL’s best offenses” and turn in another strong fantasy season.

The biggest thing shaping his outlook is that the Rams have already shown a willingness to manage his workload a bit more than they did early in his career. Fantasy Life noted that Los Angeles leaned more into a roughly 60/40 split with Blake Corum last season, and that Williams’ per-game touch total was lower than in his earlier peak years. Even so, Williams still produced RB1-level fantasy numbers, and FantasyPros says he remained the team’s primary red-zone back, which is the kind of usage that keeps him fantasy-relevant even if the overall rushing split is not as extreme as it once was.

There do not appear to be any major 2026 injury, trade, cut, or free-agency developments changing his situation, and current preseason outlooks continue to treat him as a Ram. That stability matters, because his fantasy value is heavily tied to playing in Sean McVay’s offense and handling goal-line work. The main risk is less about a team change and more about whether Corum or rookie Jarquez Hunter takes a bigger share of the backfield, which could push Williams from a solid RB1 into more of the RB12-RB20 range.

For 2026 drafts, Williams looks like a strong target if you want a running back with a high weekly floor and clear touchdown upside, even if the efficiency profile is not elite. FantasyPros and Fantasy Life both suggest his current price is more in the mid-RB1 to RB2 range than in the locked-in elite tier, which makes him appealing if he slips past the backs with cleaner workloads. In plain fantasy terms, expect another productive season, but draft him as a volume-driven starter rather than a true “must-have” league winner.
