Malik Washington enters the 2026 fantasy season as a late-round, deep-league option rather than a must-start player. Recent projections and outlooks have him in the WR70-ish range, with expectations centered on roughly 45 to 50 catches, around 400 to 500 receiving yards, and only a handful of touchdowns, which keeps him more in the stash-and-see category than the weekly lineup category.

The biggest thing working in his favor is opportunity. Miami’s passing game still has room for a secondary receiver to matter, and recent fantasy previews note that Washington could benefit if the target distribution stays thin behind the top options. He also offers a little extra value because he can contribute some rushing production, which gives him a slightly higher floor in full PPR formats than a one-dimensional bench receiver.

The downside is that his 2025 production did not show a true breakout, and multiple fantasy sources continue to describe him as a depth piece for redraft leagues. Even in optimistic projections, his usage looks more like flex insurance than weekly starter volume, so he needs either a clear target-share jump or injuries ahead of him to become a real fantasy difference-maker.

For 2026 drafts, the best approach is to treat Washington as a late-round upside pick in full PPR and a watch-list name in shallower leagues. If you need stable wide receiver production, there are safer options, but if you want cheap exposure to a young player who could climb Miami’s pecking order, Washington is still worth a look.
