Nico Collins
Houston Texans
Season Preview
Nico Collins enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the safest high-end receivers to build around, even if the ceiling looks a little tighter than it did a year ago. CBS Sports notes that he was still excellent in 2025, but his target-per-route and yards-per-route efficiency dipped, and Houston’s passing game looks deeper and more crowded than before, which is why they now view him as a low-end WR1 in the back half of Round 2 in full-PPR drafts.
The encouraging part is that Collins still has a very strong fantasy profile when he is on the field. FantasyPros says he finished 2025 as Houston’s clear WR1, topped 1,000 yards for the third time in four seasons, and remained highly efficient despite playing through injuries, while Fantasy Life highlights three straight top-10 PPR finishes per game and elite underlying usage metrics like a 26% target share.
The main thing fantasy managers need to watch is health, because Collins has dealt with injuries in each of the last three seasons and has missed games every year in that span. There is also some early camp monitoring to note: FantasyPros reported that he sat out 11-on-11 drills at Texans practice in June, though that source specifically said it was too early to worry and that it was just something to monitor heading into minicamp.
For 2026 drafts, Collins still profiles as a reliable WR1/WR2 hybrid with real difference-making upside, especially if C.J. Stroud rebounds and Houston’s offense stays efficient. The safest read is that Collins remains a premium fantasy starter with top-10 potential, but the mix of increased target competition and recurring injury risk makes him slightly less of a slam-dunk than in his absolute peak value window.
