Season Preview
Omarion Hampton enters 2026 looking like a strong fantasy RB1 candidate, and the market seems to agree: recent rankings and projections have him in the RB8-to-RB11 range with a path to low-end RB1 production and real league-winning upside. His profile is especially appealing because projections point to a heavy workload, including roughly 240-270 carries and around 50 catches, which is the kind of volume fantasy managers want to chase.
The biggest positive for Hampton is his situation in Los Angeles, where recent fantasy outlooks note a healthy offensive line and a new offensive coordinator in Mike McDaniel, a setup that should be friendly to both rushing efficiency and receiving production. That combination gives Hampton a ceiling beyond simple early-down work, and it helps explain why several projection models see him topping 1,200 rushing yards with mid-range touchdown upside.
There is one real concern to keep in mind: Hampton’s 2025 season was interrupted by ankle injuries, including a fractured ankle that sent him to injured reserve and later a separate right ankle issue that again limited him late in the year. The most recent reports from January showed him battling through that ankle problem but still expected to play, so while the injury does not appear to be an offseason blocker, it is worth remembering as a durability flag when weighing him against similarly priced backs.
For 2026 fantasy drafts, Hampton looks like a confident target if you want a running back with volume, receiving upside, and top-10 potential. He is not the safest pick in the tier because of the ankle history, but the combination of role, offensive environment, and projection makes him the kind of player who can return RB1 value if the workload holds.
