Terrance Ferguson enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the more interesting late-round tight end bets, because the athletic upside is obvious even if the weekly role is still unsettled. The Rams are still counting on a crowded tight end room, but Ferguson’s rookie-year flashes give him a real chance to take a step forward if his usage expands in Year 2.

What stands out most is his efficiency and downfield role. In 2025, Ferguson averaged 20.8 yards per reception, led all tight ends with a 17.6-yard average depth of target, and produced five deep catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns, which is a strong sign that the Rams are trying to use him as more than just an inline blocker. That kind of profile gives him more upside than a typical TE3, especially in formats that reward big plays or touchdown volatility.

The main issue is opportunity. Fantasy sources still point to Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson being involved, and one preseason outlook even lists Max Klare as part of the mix, which means Ferguson may not get enough stable target volume to be a dependable redraft starter right away. On the positive side, Higbee is now 33, and Ferguson’s role could grow if the Rams continue moving toward a younger passing-game core.

For 2026 fantasy drafts, Ferguson is best treated as a high-upside late pick rather than a safe weekly TE1. His rookie numbers were modest overall, but the combination of draft pedigree, explosive efficiency, and a possible Year 2 leap makes him a strong stash in best ball, dynasty, and deeper redraft leagues. If you want a tight end who could outperform his cost with just a little more volume, Ferguson is a smart swing.
