Trey McBride enters the 2026 fantasy football season as one of the safest and most valuable tight ends in the game. He’s still with the Cardinals after signing a four-year extension in 2025, so there’s no team change or cut risk to worry about, and recent preseason/fantasy coverage continues to slot him near the top of the position rankings.

The appeal is obvious: McBride just delivered a monster 2025 season with 126 catches for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns, and that kind of volume is exactly what fantasy managers want at tight end. He also finished as the top tight end in fantasy points per game, and current 2026 projections still point to elite production with roughly 109 receptions, 1,050 yards, and close to seven scores.

The one thing to monitor is quarterback stability in Arizona, since multiple recent fantasy previews note that a shaky QB situation could keep him from repeating last year’s ceiling. Even so, McBride’s role is so strong that he’s still being drafted as the consensus TE1 in many rankings, with overall ADP landing in the late-first to early-second round range in several formats.

For fantasy managers, McBride is the kind of player who can anchor a roster and remove weekly tight end stress. He’s especially appealing in PPR leagues because his target volume gives him a high floor, and while a slight touchdown regression is possible after last year’s spike, the combination of age, usage, and locked-in role makes him a premium 2026 target.
