Tyler Allgeier

Arizona Cardinals

Season Preview

Tyler Allgeier’s 2026 fantasy outlook got a big boost because he left Atlanta and signed a two-year deal with Arizona, where he immediately enters a backfield that already includes James Conner and Trey Benson. The move makes him more than just a pure handcuff, but it also creates a crowded situation, so his value is tied to how the Cardinals divide early-down and goal-line work.

The best-case case for Allgeier is straightforward: he becomes the steady power runner in a committee and gets enough volume to matter in fantasy, especially near the goal line. Some analysts project him as the Arizona back most likely to return value because of his size, downhill style, and established NFL production, while others expect a fairly modest share behind a presumed lead option such as Jeremiyah Love. That range tells you the role is real, but not yet locked into a workhorse workload.

Allgeier’s profile still looks like what it has always been: efficient rushing, limited receiving, and fantasy value driven mostly by touchdowns and carries rather than catches. He has never been a high-target back, and recent projections reflect that, with modest receiving expectations and mid-range rushing volume rather than the type of usage that creates a true RB1 ceiling. In practical fantasy terms, that keeps him much more valuable in standard leagues and as an upside RB3 or flex than as a reliable every-week PPR starter.

For 2026 drafts, Allgeier is a strong target if you want a running back whose role could be more useful than his cost, especially if Arizona’s backfield remains messy or injuries open the door for extra touches. The risk is that his path to volume is blocked by Conner’s veteran role, Benson’s presence, and any additional changes the Cardinals make before Week 1. He’s the kind of player who can pay off if the situation tilts his way, but his fantasy value is still built on committee math rather than a clear lead-back job.
