Zachariah Branch
Atlanta Falcons
Season Preview
Zachariah Branch is shaping up as one of the more interesting late-round fantasy football names for 2026 now that Atlanta has added him with the No. 79 overall pick. The Falcons’ depth chart gives him a real path to early snaps behind Drake London, and that kind of immediate opportunity matters in fantasy, especially for a player whose game is built on explosive YAC and manufactured touches rather than contested-catch volume.
Branch’s appeal is pretty straightforward: he is dynamic with the ball in his hands, and Atlanta appears willing to plug him into a role that can generate easy targets and designed touches. That makes him a useful fit in PPR and best ball formats, where short receptions can add up quickly even if the weekly ceiling is modest. His smaller frame likely limits his target ceiling a bit, but that same profile can still produce steady flex value if he locks in as the Falcons’ No. 2 receiver.
The downside is that Branch is still a projection-based fantasy pick rather than a proven volume producer at the NFL level. Public draft-and-fantasy projections currently place him in the low-end WR4/WR5 range, with modest receiving totals and a handful of touchdowns, which is a fair reflection of both his talent and the uncertainty around how quickly he earns a featured role. In other words, the path to relevance is there, but it depends on him beating out the other depth options and translating his college quickness into consistent NFL usage.
For 2026 fantasy drafts, Branch is best treated as a late-round stash with upside rather than someone you must force into starting lineups early. He is more attractive in deeper leagues, dynasty formats, and best ball tournaments than in shallow redraft, because the most likely outcome is a useful but inconsistent role while his realistic ceiling is that of a matchup-based flex who wins with efficiency instead of raw target share.
