Davante Adams enters the 2026 fantasy football season as a high-end WR2 with WR1 upside if everything breaks right, but the safest expectation is a slight step back from last year’s touchdown-fueled peak. In 2025 with the Rams, he put up 60 catches, 789 yards, and 14 touchdowns in 14 games, and multiple fantasy outlets note that the scoring pace is unlikely to repeat at the same level in 2026.

The biggest reason to temper expectations is role and regression. Adams is no longer the unquestioned focal point in Los Angeles, with Puka Nacua clearly sharing the offense’s top target share, and FantasyData specifically points out that Adams is blocked from being the Rams’ number one passing-game option by Nacua. FantasyPros also flags Adams’ 2025 production as heavily touchdown-dependent, while projecting a more modest 2026 line around 68 catches, 933 yards, and about 10 scores, which is still strong but not elite-WR1 territory.

Health and age are the other major concerns. Adams is entering his age-34 season, and recent fantasy analysis notes he dealt with a lower-body tissue injury in 2025 and has missed time in recent seasons, making durability a real part of his outlook. Even so, the current team situation is stable: Rams coach Sean McVay has said he “absolutely” expects Adams back in 2026, and reports indicate the team explored trading him but expects him to remain in Los Angeles on his existing deal through the season.

For fantasy drafting, Adams makes sense as a dependable veteran receiver if he falls into the mid-WR2 range, especially in formats that reward touchdowns. He still plays in a productive passing attack with Matthew Stafford, and his weekly ceiling remains intact because the Rams can generate red-zone chances; the risk is that his 2025 touchdown total was so high that even a strong season may look more ordinary in fantasy terms. If you roster him, the ideal approach is to value him as a win-now starter rather than a cornerstone, because the age curve, injury history, and expected touchdown regression all point to more volatility in 2026 than many managers will want to admit.
