J.K. Dobbins enters the 2026 fantasy season as a familiar kind of bet: productive when active, but always carrying more injury risk than your average starting running back. He is back with the Denver Broncos, who re-signed him on a two-year deal, and reports say the team viewed that move as a priority.

From a fantasy standpoint, the biggest takeaway is that Denver appears willing to keep Dobbins in a meaningful role, but not necessarily a true bell-cow workload. In 2025, he led the Broncos in carries and rushing yards before a foot injury ended his season after 10 games, and he was on pace for strong rushing volume before getting hurt.

That gives him a pretty clear draft profile for 2026: useful RB2/flex production if he stays on the field, with a scoring-dependent ceiling because his receiving work has been limited. Fantasy analysts note that he should still have early-down and goal-line value, but his injury history and the presence of RJ Harvey keep him from looking like a safe workhorse.

For managers, Dobbins is best treated as a value pick rather than a foundation piece. His recent ADP has climbed into the top-100 range, which reflects both renewed confidence in his role and the possibility that he can repeat something close to his 2025 production, but the downside remains obvious if health issues pop up again. If you draft him, you want bench depth behind him; if he stays healthy, he can easily return starter-level value at a reasonable price.
