Season Preview

The Eagles still look like one of the most interesting fantasy teams in 2026, but the profile is different after a busy offseason that included major roster churn. Philadelphia moved on from A.J. Brown in a June trade, added Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore at wide receiver, and brought in Andy Dalton behind Jalen Hurts, so Hurts remains the safest fantasy anchor while the receiver room is much more volatile than it was a year ago.

Hurts is still a strong QB1 because of his rushing floor and red-zone role, and that foundation is what keeps the offense fantasy-friendly even if the passing tree is more spread out. The downside is that the departure of Brown removes the elite target hog who once gave the Eagles a weekly difference-maker at receiver, so the next-best fantasy bet is probably a volume approach rather than expecting a true alpha to replace him immediately.

At running back, the Eagles continue to offer useful fantasy pieces, but the backfield is best treated carefully until roles settle more clearly. The addition of Dameon Pierce gives the team another body who could matter if injuries strike, but this still looks like a system where the weekly starter will be defined by workload, goal-line usage, and how often Philadelphia leans on the run in a game script controlled by Hurts.

Tight end remains a sneaky helpful part of this roster, with Dallas Goedert still the most reliable pass-catching option if he stays healthy, while Johnny Mundt adds depth rather than fantasy appeal. The biggest current news for fantasy managers is the churn at the margins—such as Johnny Wilson being waived with an injury designation and Tariq Castro-Fields going on injured reserve—which reinforces how quickly depth can change in August, so Eagles fantasy targets should be monitored right up until draft day.
