Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots

Season Preview

Rhamondre Stevenson enters the 2025 fantasy football season with a clear but modest role in the New England Patriots offense. Coming off a 2024 campaign where he finished as the RB27 in fantasy points per game, Stevenson has faced challenges including a foot injury and struggles with ball security. These issues contributed to some benchings and led the Patriots to invest a second-round draft pick on rookie TreVeyon Henderson, signaling increased competition in the backfield. Despite this, head coach Mike Vrabel has indicated Stevenson’s injury is not significant, suggesting he’ll return without a lengthy absence.

Stevenson’s fantasy value has been tempered by the arrival of Henderson, who is widely viewed by the fantasy community as the superior asset moving forward. While Stevenson showed flashes of potential to be a lead back in past seasons—most notably in 2022 when he was an RB10—his production tends to hover around a mid-tier RB3 range. His 2022 season was an outlier fueled by an unusually high target share (17.3%) which is unlikely to be replicated given the new competition and his more recent performance trends. Thus, his upside in 2025 remains limited compared to earlier expectations.

Despite these concerns, Stevenson still projects as a useful piece of the Patriots’ rushing attack, particularly in goal-line and early-down scenarios. His size and physical running style make him a dependable option for grinding out yards and short-yardage situations. With Henderson expected to take on a growing share of the snaps and receiving work, Stevenson could continue to see a role as part of a committee backfield rather than a true feature back. For fantasy managers, this translates to a fluctuating workload and a fantasy ceiling best characterized as solid but not spectacular.

For 2025 fantasy drafts, Stevenson is generally ranked around the late rounds, with an average draft position near pick 107-108 overall according to recent projections. He remains a candidate for flex or bye-week fill-in duties rather than an every-week starter at most fantasy levels. Those willing to gamble on Stevenson's power running and goal-line touchdowns might find value in deeper leagues or as insurance behind Henderson. Overall, his outlook is cautiously optimistic but acknowledges his ceiling is capped due to the evolving backfield dynamics in New England.
