Season Preview

The Buccaneers enter 2026 looking like a capable fantasy offense, with Baker Mayfield still directing a system that can support multiple usable starters, especially if the receiving corps stays healthy. Tampa Bay’s biggest fantasy storyline is health: Chris Godwin is back in the mix, but Jalen McMillan, Emeka Egbuka, Tez Johnson, and Cade Otton have all appeared on recent injury reports, which could affect early-season targets and weekly volatility.

Bucky Irving remains the most important fantasy piece here and should be treated as a strong RB1/RB2 option in formats that reward volume, since the first preseason depth chart still has him atop the backfield. The team also brought in Kenneth Gainwell, and recent previews note he was added to help absorb backfield work after Rachaad White’s departure, which slightly caps Irving’s ceiling but gives Tampa Bay more stability behind him.

At wide receiver, this offense could be better than many expect if the room gets healthy. Chris Godwin is the safest veteran bet, Emeka Egbuka has an opportunity to earn immediate playing time, and Jalen McMillan and Tez Johnson are names to monitor because both have been dealing with injuries in camp, which could open the door for bigger early roles elsewhere. If one of those younger receivers misses time, Baker Mayfield’s targets could concentrate quickly, making Godwin the clearest weekly fantasy starter and Egbuka the most intriguing upside play.

Cade Otton is a useful late-round tight end target, but his questionable status adds some risk, and his value rises if Tampa Bay’s wideout injuries linger into Week 1. Overall, the Buccaneers profile as a balanced, fantasy-friendly offense with one high-end running back, a reliable veteran receiver, and several upside bets at wide receiver, but the final shape of the team will depend heavily on which injured players are ready to open the season.
