Season Preview
The Cowboys look like one of the more fantasy-friendly offenses again in 2026, with Dak Prescott still supported by a strong passing core and a passing game that should lean heavily on CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Dallas also locked in some important offseason continuity by restructuring Prescott, Lamb, and Tyler Smith, while Pickens remains on the franchise tag after a major offseason commitment to keep the passing game intact.
Lamb remains the clear top fantasy option in Dallas, and Pickens gives the team a strong second receiver who can win downfield and in the red zone. The offense also added depth with signings like Tyler Johnson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jaden Smith, and Romello Brinson, but those moves mostly matter as supporting pieces unless injuries force them into larger roles. For fantasy purposes, the Cowboys’ weekly ceiling still starts with Prescott’s ability to support two startable wideouts.
The backfield is the trickiest part of the Cowboys’ fantasy outlook. Javonte Williams signed a three-year deal, but he had already been placed on injured reserve earlier in the year, and Dallas also dealt with movement at the position, including cuts and signings such as Jashaun Corbin and the release of Dominic Richardson. That makes the running back room worth monitoring closely in August, especially if you want a late-round upside pick rather than a stable weekly starter.
Dallas also has some injury-related uncertainty that affects the edges of the fantasy picture, especially at tight end and in the secondary positions. Princeton Fant is on injured reserve with a torn ACL and MCL, while Michael Trigg and Jaydon Blue show up on the injury report as questionable, which could open short-term opportunities if their statuses change. Overall, the Cowboys profile as a passing-first fantasy offense with elite receiver upside, moderate quarterback value, and a much shakier running back situation heading into 2026.
