BUF

Buffalo Bills

AFC East | Bye Week: 7

Season Preview

The Buffalo Bills enter the 2025 NFL season with a stable coaching staff under Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, ensuring consistent offensive and defensive schemes. This stability translates well to fantasy football projections, as players’ roles and usage remain predictable, favoring a balanced attack with a continued emphasis on the run game. The Bills open their season hosting the Baltimore Ravens, promising a competitive slate from the start.

Quarterback Josh Allen continues to be the heartbeat of Buffalo’s offense and a top fantasy asset. After finishing as QB2 last season, Allen is a prime MVP candidate in 2025, expected to surpass 4,000 passing yards and throw upwards of 35 touchdowns while remaining a formidable rushing threat. His dual-threat capability keeps defenses off balance and bolsters his fantasy ceiling immensely. Backup Mitchell Trubisky remains the second-string QB, with Mike White considered more for the practice squad.

In the backfield, James Cook solidifies his role as the lead running back after signing a four-year extension. He is expected to deliver strong fantasy numbers as a versatile rusher and receiver out of the backfield. Depth is also secure with Ray Davis and Ty Johnson rounding out the backfield. On wide receivers, the Bills saw some turnover during the offseason. Amari Cooper, acquired mid-2024, is now unsigned and no longer with the team, while Mack Hollins signed with the Patriots. Buffalo has added depth with free agents Josh Palmer (ex-Chargers) and Elijah Moore (ex-Browns), both promising contributors. Rising second-year receiver Keon Coleman is a sleeper to watch, expected to thrive in zone coverage and increase his production in 2025.

Tight end Dalton Kincaid returns for another year, offering a reliable target for Allen and continuing to grow as a key fantasy contributor. While the defense experienced changes — notably losing pass rusher Von Miller to the Washington Commanders — the defensive unit remains competitive but less impactful on fantasy value. Overall, the Bills’ offensive core, led by Allen, Cook, Kincaid, and emerging receivers, positions them strongly for both a deep playoff run and valuable fantasy production in the 2025 season.
